You don’t need a ton of expensive equipment to get fit. In some cases, all you need to exercise at home is your own bodyweight.
After gyms and fitness centers closed down due to COVID-19, people had had to get creative when it came to their workouts. At-home workouts can strengthen every part of the body, including your butt, quads, and chest. Bodyweight exercises can also be used in a cardio routine.
Here are a few effective workouts you can easily perform at home.
Low-Impact Bodyweight Exercise Routine
Many trainers who designed at-home workouts included a lot of jumping, which was tough on the joints. Colleen Conlon of Equinox, conversely, created a low-impact workout specifically for people who have aching joints or don’t want to disturb their neighbors.
Working Out Your Lower Body
Have you ever tried the runners-lunge-to-balance move? How about the corkscrew, which is a type of plank that is sure to make your core a lot stronger? Do this workout, and your endurance is sure to be tested.
Do you love a challenge, even at the end of a brutal workout? You’re in luck. Amy Eisinger, CPT, the creator of this workout, even includes a cardio burn at the workout’s tail end.
For Those Who Love Cardio
Want a cardio challenge that will work out your entire body? Amy Eisinger created this particular workout for those who will never pass on a cardio session. During the exercise, you will make five moves, ranging from squat pulses to tuck-ups to other activities that will work areas like your shoulders. Known for the brutal ends of her workouts, Eisinger includes an AMRAP (as many repetitions as possible) as a sort of “dessert.” Enjoy.
Cardio in 3 Moves
The goal of this grueling workout is to get through three cardio moves as quickly as you can. The three exercises that you will be doing in this routine include the following moves:
- Bird Dog Crunches
- Froggers
- Three-Point Toe Touch
If you’re new to fitness, be sure to take breaks between the circuits. But whatever your level of fitness, try to enjoy having a session of sweat in your living room. It can be fun if you allow it to be.
